Eating for Healing

Eating clean is a way of life for many people. People have various reasons for choosing a clean eating lifestyle. The most common reason being as a way to lose weight and stay in shape. However, for some, it is a way to begin healing the body or for prevention of disease.

I often come across a lot of web sites that post information about specific diets that have been known to help cure and prevent particular ailments. Below are a several that I have come across.

Cancer

The Budwig Diet - The theory is: the use of oxygen in the organism can be stimulated by protein compounds of sulphuric content, which make oils water-soluble and which is present in cheese, nuts, onion and leek vegetables such as leek, chive, onion and garlic, but especially cottage cheese. Lower Cholesterol/Heart Health

Mediterranean Diet - The diet is often cited as beneficial for being low in saturated fat and high in monounsaturated fat and dietary fiber. [Source: wikipedia.org]

Anti-Inflammatory

Diabetes/Weight Loss

Slow Carb Diet - low carbs are absorbed more gradually, so blood sugar doesn”t markedly increase. Instead, you get a more gradual release of energy, so you feel full and content for longer and wind up eating less. [Source: micronutra.com]

I love finding new recipes because I like to have a lot of variety in my meals. Breakfast is the most important meal of the day but people still tend to skip it due to being in a rush or just not knowing what is a "good" breakfast.
